Field Service Engineer - Malaga/Marbella

About the role

Abbott is hiring a Field Service Engineer for its CORE LABS division in Malaga/Marbella, Spain. The engineer performs planned maintenance, hardware and software upgrades (TSBs), provides first-line Level 1 support and assists with instrument installations and deinstallations. Success is measured by customer satisfaction (NPS), service KPIs and district profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-line service to customers, including service interventions that may take less than 4 hours of labour.
• Schedule and perform planned and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM).
• Schedule, perform and document hardware and software updates (TSBs).
• Assist with instrument installations and deinstallations.
• Travel within the service area (about 15% of the time).

Required profile

• Bachelor's or engineering degree in Medical, Electrical, Mechanical, Biology or Biomedical Technology preferred.
• Proven track record in a similar position, supported by management and customer references.
• Successful engagement with customers, especially laboratory staff.
• Technical expert for the assigned product line.
• Good English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong communication skills and ability to identify and drive issue resolution.
• Strong experience with analytical tools and software.
• Good computer skills.
