Field Service Engineer - Varian Equipment

About the role

Siemens Healthineers is looking for a Field Service Engineer based in Málaga to complete technical service tasks of various scopes and help plan and manage them. The main location is Málaga, and the role involves servicing complex Varian products.

Key responsibilities

• Service and maintain complex Varian products according to technical documentation and training provided.
• Focus on customers, minimise equipment downtime and improve performance, and build strong customer relationships through empathetic written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Provide phone support and remote assistance to customers and to the Field Engineer as required.
• Manage time autonomously, keeping a schedule that includes preventative maintenance, installations, upgrades and incoming customer calls, prioritising requests and following them through to completion.
• Record service visits in detail in company information systems, including technical problems, actions taken and parts used.
• During the initial training period, assist in Technical Courses in Las Vegas (USA) and Bern (Switzerland); after that, stay up to date with technical publications and procedures for the assigned Varian equipment.
• Maintain a high level of professional knowledge and safety awareness.

Required profile

• Degree or Bachelor's in electronics, electrical/biomedical engineering or a related field, or equivalent education.
• 1 to 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Willingness to work normal and non-normal hours and to travel frequently, estimated at around 3 nights away from home per month.

Required skills

• Excellent troubleshooting skills on complex equipment, with proficient use of test equipment.
• Sound knowledge of IT equipment and basic network troubleshooting.
• Good interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
