Finance Assistant

About the role

TEAM LEWIS, a global marketing agency, is looking for a Finance Assistant based in Madrid to support the Southern Europe offices. The role provides efficient finance support and advice consistent with company and legal requirements, working closely with the Global Finance team in London, Germany, France and Benelux. The ideal candidate is a junior person with a few years of accounting experience and a bookkeeping orientation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting processes: supplier invoices, purchase orders, treasury and cash management, credit control, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, cashbook and reconciliations
• Carry out timely monthly and year-end closing
• Meet financial deadlines, including invoicing and VAT returns
• Manage debtors and creditors properly and prepare financial reports
• Propose improvements to finance operations and coordinate with the Global Finance team
• Support Finance, Operations and HR on regional initiatives and ensure compliance with finance policies such as cost authorisations and purchase orders
• Help improve finance systems and train non-finance colleagues

Required profile

• At least 2 years of accounting experience
• Experience of core accounting processes (supplier invoices, credit control, accounts payable, banking, cashbook, reconciliations)
• High English and Spanish written and spoken skills
• Ability to work with international teams across different offices
• Organised, able to prioritise, pragmatic and energetic

Required skills

• IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus
