Finance Controller

About the role

Eurofins Scientific, a global leader in food, environmental, pharmaceutical and cosmetic testing and in independent laboratory services, is hiring a Finance Controller for its NSC Spain subsidiary. The role sits within the finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager, and covers accounting, financial planning and analysis, and compliance of the Spanish business. It is a permanent position with a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with internal and external reporting requirements and alignment with Group financial policies and local regulations.
• Advise the company on accounting matters and ensure compliance with reporting requirements, procedures, internal controls and audits.
• Work with Legal, Tax, Payroll and Purchasing teams.
• Coordinate and manage internal and external audits for the legal entities in scope.
• Support internal control by improving and implementing processes, and define action plans to improve internal processes and information.
• Make sure the KPIs supporting the action plans are known, reported, analysed and communicated to the right stakeholders.
• Take part in the intercompany process and prepare BS and PL analysis reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CCA certificate is a plus.
• 3-4 years of relevant experience in financial and accounting planning.
• 1-2 years of demonstrable experience as an auditor in a multinational company.
• Proven experience managing the month-end closing process.
• Fluency in the local language is mandatory; English fluency is required to report and communicate beyond the immediate perimeter.

Required skills

• Excellent understanding of Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Profit and Loss statements.
• Solid experience with AX2012 or Microsoft Navision and expert use of Excel.
• Experience with the COUPA purchasing system is a plus.
