Finance Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Director to lead the financial management and performance of our insurance and investment businesses. Reporting to the CFO, you will partner with the CEO, Investment, Actuarial, Risk and Business leadership teams to deliver accurate financial insight and ensure robust governance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day finance function, translating business objectives into financial plans and performance targets.
• Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, long‑term financial planning and provide variance analysis, scenario modelling and actionable insights.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring accurate management accounts, consolidated statements and statutory disclosures.
• Direct financial reporting and analysis for insurance operations, monitoring premiums, claims, reserves, commissions and underwriting performance.
• Supervise accounting and reporting for investment portfolios, tracking income, gains/losses and supporting valuation and performance measurement.
• Control treasury and cash management activities, monitoring liquidity, banking relationships, funding requirements and related risks.
• Assist the CFO with capital planning, balance‑sheet management and solvency monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably within insurance or investment environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into financial plans.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Experience overseeing treasury, cash management and capital planning functions.
• Ability to work closely with C‑level executives and cross‑functional teams.
