Financial Controller

About the role

THEKER is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its financial operations as the company scales its robotics and AI solutions. Based in Barcelona, the role will build the financial infrastructure, establish controls, and provide the leadership team with real‑time visibility of the company’s financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end and year‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Manage cash flow, burn rate and runway, delivering regular updates to senior leadership.
• Control operating expenses, process vendor invoices, and oversee accounts payable.
• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile bank statements and keep the chart of accounts up to date.
• Prepare departmental budgets, monitor actuals versus forecasts and support cost‑control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish accounting and tax regulations, and coordinate audit preparation.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial controlling, accounting or FP&A, preferably in high‑growth or transformation environments.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, cash management and cost control.
• Ability to build financial models from scratch and drive data‑based decisions.
• High attention to detail and capacity to work independently with limited guidance.
• Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Barcelona (relocation possible).
