Forensic Accountant

About the role

MDD, a Davies Company, is a specialised forensic accounting firm offering business valuations, forensic investigations and litigation support services, with more than 40 offices on 5 continents. Its assignments cover commercial litigation, family law, fraud, business valuations, business disputes, natural and man-made catastrophes, lost profits and insurance. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Madrid.

Key responsibilities

• Preliminary to intermediate analysis of sales, production and other accounting data
• Physical inventory observation and price testing
• Examination of source documents pertinent to the engagement
• Check and proof reports and schedules
• Conduct phone, video or in-person interviews to obtain information
• Research, data analysis and evaluation
• Invoice analysis
• Attend marketing events and client functions

Required profile

• Qualified accountant interested in a career in forensic accounting
• Understanding of Spanish general accounting principles (PGC)
• Previous work experience in a professional setting
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, under pressure or tight deadlines
• Ability to understand how loss events have impacted a business
• Willingness to accept increasing responsibility as experience grows
• Proficiency in Spanish is required; other languages are an asset

• Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Teams
• Excellent computer skills

The salary is stated as 33,500 to 40,000 euros per year, with compensation described as competitive with major accounting firms.
