Full Stack Developer (SE7) - Engineering Integrations

About the role

Roche is looking for a Full Stack Developer (SE7) in its RDT Engineering Excellence & Experience organization in Madrid. As a technical leader and backlog owner, you will drive medium to large technical initiatives and optimize the developer experience for thousands of engineers worldwide. You will own Roche's core integration portfolio and its Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) ecosystem, including RETINA/Codebeamer, Jira and Confluence, while enforcing GxP compliance, code quality and cybersecurity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and scale a business-critical portfolio of internal integration products (e.g. OpsHub, MCP Synapse, T-REX, Allure Importer, TDG Importer, Reports4Diabetes, RAO)
• Design secure, resilient interoperability across the engineering toolchain (RETINA, Jira, Tosca, ADO, Aha!, GitLab, GitHub) for 6,000+ concurrent users
• Contribute to the integrations backlog as a technical product owner and take accountability for its execution
• Decommission legacy ecosystems such as WebIT and migrate workloads to modern architectures
• Build integration layers (e.g. between RETINA and CIDM) and negotiate alignment across IT and business stakeholders
• Resolve technical debt, scalability bottlenecks and operational blockers
• Build and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) layers and automation engines (e.g. T-REX) for test imports, data management and workflows
• Partner with Global Procurement and Legal on vendor RFPs and optimize software licensing costs
• Set and enforce GxP best practices for code quality, CI/CD, containerization and software validation

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering medium to large cross-functional technical initiatives at product level
• Experience managing complex enterprise integrations and leading multi-thousand-user legacy migrations, preferably on GxP environments
• Experience with backlog management, vendor RFPs, contract negotiations and cost optimization
• Exceptional stakeholder negotiation and horizon scanning abilities

Required skills

• Deep hands-on programming in Python, Java and JavaScript, with modern full-stack frameworks
• Familiarity with Jira, Codebeamer (RETINA), OpsHub, Tosca, Azure DevOps, Aha!, GitLab and GitHub
• Practical experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI agent workflows and agentic automation
• Understanding of Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD and software validation under GxP
• Performance tuning, load management and high availability for multi-tenant platforms
