General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Hexagon is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join a newly created multinational team supporting the integration of a recently acquired business. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment, improve processes, and contribute to finance transformation initiatives across the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Perform balance‑sheet analysis, account reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, pre‑payments, payroll entries and other adjustments.
• Maintain and monitor fixed‑assets accounting.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
• Support tax‑related accounting activities such as VAT, CIT and transfer pricing.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures and controls.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with management reporting.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, Tax, Controlling and other finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Support transition and migration activities during integration of new entities, systems and processes.
• Participate in finance transformation projects, including ERP implementations and process standardisation.
• Provide ad‑hoc reporting and support special GBS projects as required.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience in General Ledger or financial accounting, preferably in an international Shared Service Center or Global Business Services environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping processes and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting business transitions, migrations, acquisitions, system implementations or finance transformation projects.
• Solid understanding of month‑end closing, reconciliations, intercompany processes and journal entries.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
