Global Manufacturing Data & OT Engineer - Scent

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients, health and biosciences, is looking for a Global Manufacturing Data & OT Engineer for its Scent manufacturing network. The role strengthens the industrial data foundation across the global manufacturing network by bridging shop-floor systems and enterprise platforms so that manufacturing data is reliable, contextualized and accessible for analytics, operational excellence and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Connect and integrate manufacturing data from PLC, DCS, SCADA, MES, laboratory and historian systems.
• Support and enhance the AVEVA PI environment, including data collection, asset frameworks, interfaces, analytics and manufacturing context.
• Apply ISA-88 and ISA-95 principles to structure equipment, process, batch and production data.
• Ensure high-quality, reliable and governed industrial data used by analytics, reporting, MES and enterprise data platforms.
• Monitor data flows, troubleshoot data quality issues and coordinate corrective actions with Automation, IT, Manufacturing and Data teams.
• Support site deployments, commissioning, system improvements and continuous optimization.
• Promote standards, documentation and best practices across global Scent manufacturing sites.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Control Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial IT, Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing automation, industrial data, historian, MES or IT/OT integration environments.
• Experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA, MES and process historians.
• Hands-on experience with AVEVA PI or similar historian platforms.
• Knowledge of ISA-88, ISA-95, industrial data integration and manufacturing data models.
• Professional English proficiency.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills.

Required skills

• SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python or PowerShell.
• Industrial connectivity technologies including OPC, APIs and database integrations.
• Nice to have: chemical, process manufacturing, flavors and fragrances or life sciences background; knowledge of MES platforms, OT cybersecurity and industrial networking; experience with Snowflake, Power BI or Seeq; exposure to multi-site manufacturing and global deployments.
