Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Amenitiz is looking for a Senior Data Engineer in Barcelona to take the lead on its data infrastructure. You will architect and scale pipelines, own core data models and set governance and quality standards so that teams across the company get secure, reliable access to data. You will also mentor junior engineers and work with product, engineering, analytics and data science.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure and reliable data pipelines
• Architect and optimize ELT workflows in dbt, keeping them modular and performant
• Own the integrity, structure and performance of core data models in Redshift
• Drive standards for data governance, observability and quality across pipelines
• Integrate diverse data sources, APIs and third-party platforms
• Partner with engineering and product teams on data architecture improvements
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize pipelines, including incident response and root cause analysis
• Contribute to the long-term data platform strategy, evaluating new tools and patterns
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical coaching and knowledge sharing

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a track record of scaling infrastructure in fast-growing environments
• Familiarity with data privacy, security and governance frameworks
• Proactive problem-solving, excellent communication and leadership skills, and experience leading cross-team projects

Required skills

• Expert SQL and strong Python (or other data-related languages)
• Modern data platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift
• Orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt
• Cloud architectures (GCP, AWS or Azure) and distributed systems
