Head of Legal

About the role

Codeway is scaling its consumer‑tech business and needs a senior legal leader to shape its compliance function. As the first senior legal hire, you will report directly to the CEO and lead the existing Legal Counsel while building a robust legal operation for a portfolio of 60+ mobile apps.

Key responsibilities

• Manage App Store and Play Store compliance, including escalations, account issues, ban recovery and policy interpretation across all publisher accounts.
• Design and implement a privacy infrastructure covering consent flows, data‑subject requests, breach protocols and cookie policies, working closely with engineering and product teams.
• Oversee payment and subscription risk, chargeback strategy, refund policies and dispute handling at scale.
• Develop and maintain playbooks for platform risk, GDPR, DSA, AI Act readiness and other regulatory exposures.
• Define the legal operating model, decision‑making processes, risk assessment framework and external counsel deployment.

Required profile

• Deep, hands‑on experience in consumer‑tech or direct‑to‑consumer mobile apps.
• Native understanding of App Store and Play Store enforcement practices.
• Proven ability to build compliance frameworks that scale across multiple products.
• Strong track record of leading legal teams or functions in fast‑growing environments.
