Health and Safety Responsible

About the role

H&M Group is looking for a Health and Safety Responsible in Barcelona to drive health and safety initiatives across its market, ensuring safe workplaces, legal compliance and strong preventive practices across stores, offices and operations. The role oversees risk assessments, incident management, training, audits and travel-risk processes, working cross-functionally to embed a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee workplace safety and compliance across locations, and ensure compliance with local laws, global guidelines and routines.
• Foster a safety culture and develop, implement and maintain H&S policies, procedures and manuals.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, recommend corrective actions and follow up on their implementation.
• Lead incident investigations, including root-cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Deliver training such as fire safety, manual handling and first aid.
• Act as main contact for regulators, labour inspections, insurers, emergency services and external partners.
• Support travelers' safety and run travel tracker protocols, including emergency travel response plans.
• Maintain contact with Prevention Delegates and Health and Safety Committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in occupational and/or environmental H&S or a related field.
• Certification as an Occupational Risk Prevention Specialist (Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales - PRL) is required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a health and safety role, preferably in retail, logistics or warehouse operations.
• Experience in inspections, audits and investigations.
• Fluency in Spanish and English; Portuguese is an advantage.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of H&S regulations, compliance standards and best practices.
• Incident management, including reporting, data analysis for trends and corrective action planning.
• Understanding of occupational safety principles, accident investigation and stakeholder engagement.
