Highways Engineer

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Highways Engineer with experience in roadway design to join its Linear Infrastructures team in Madrid. The team works on projects from feasibility studies to detailed designs, either as a standalone team or within multidisciplinary teams, serving private and public clients including Local Authorities and major contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Work collaboratively on international projects and support AECOM's Home Offices
• Perform daily work under the Designer's supervision on small projects or parts of larger ones, reviewed by senior engineers
• Prepare geometric design of linear infrastructures
• Set standards and procedures for CAD work and work on complex 2D and 3D drawings, including markups
• Train less experienced staff in preparing drawings and graphic elements

Required profile

• Proven track record of highway/civil designs (at least 2 years)
• Fluent English, oral and written
• Commitment to quality control policy and quality management system
• Experience in North America or Australia is considered favorable
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of at least one software package: OpenRoads, Civil 3D or 12D Model
• CAD work and 2D/3D drafting
