Highways Engineer (Roadway Design)

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Highways Engineer with experience in roadway design to join its Linear Infrastructures team in Madrid. The team works on projects from feasibility studies to detailed designs, either as a standalone team or within multidisciplinary teams, serving private and public clients including Local Authorities and major contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Work on small projects or parts of larger ones, with work reviewed by senior or experienced engineers, performing daily tasks under the Designer's supervision.
• Prepare geometric design of linear infrastructures and work on complex 2D and 3D drawings, including markups and CAD work.
• Set standards and procedures for CAD work.
• Train less experienced staff in preparing drawings and graphic elements.
• Collaborate on international projects supporting AECOM's home offices and work in a collaborative team environment.

Required profile

• Proven track record of highway, track or civil designs (at least 2 years).
• Fluent English, oral and written.
• Commitment to quality control policy and quality management system.
• Experience in North America or Australia is considered favourably.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university is preferred.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of at least one software package: OpenRoads, Civil 3D or 12D Model.
• CAD work and geometric design of linear infrastructures.
