Homologation Engineer

About the role

Lear's administrative office in Valls, Spain, focuses on engineering and innovation within the E-Systems division, which is a centre of excellence for electrification, connectivity and high-voltage systems. As Homologation Engineer you will join a global team developing awarded programmes and preparing RFQs (Request for Quotations) for major OEMs worldwide, covering a wide automotive components portfolio. The role reports to the Global Homologation Manager and works with product and project management, purchasing, technical sales, manufacturing, laboratory, hardware and software engineering, mechanical engineering, functional safety and cybersecurity teams. The position is based in Valls (Barcelona) with occasional travel to other Lear centres and OEM or supplier facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support certification time and cost estimation during the OEM RFI/RFQ phase
• Support RFQs to the relevant certification partners
• Propagate certification-related design requirements to system engineering in the early design stage and monitor their implementation
• Coordinate the preparation and execution of test campaigns
• Monitor the evolution of certification standards and scenarios
• Manage certification projects with awarded partners and maintain certifications throughout the product lifecycle

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, etc.)
• Fluency in English
• Experience in regulatory, Bluetooth or WiFi certification is a plus
• Project management skills, interfacing customer and supplier
• Hands-on testing and lab skills are a plus
• Legal authorization to work in Spain

Required skills

• Python, CanOE or other programming languages (a plus)
