ICT Officer – Security Operations Center Analyst (Consultant)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking a consultant to join its Information Security & Risk Management Unit as a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst. Reporting to the Senior Information Security Officer, you will monitor, detect, analyse and respond to cybersecurity threats to protect IOM’s ICT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security events using SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS and other tools, performing alert triage and incident response.
• Conduct threat hunting, threat intelligence analysis and log management to maintain visibility across the infrastructure.
• Document incidents, produce reports and ensure compliance with SLA and internal processes.
• Collaborate with business units to embed security requirements throughout system lifecycles and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field with at least four years of relevant experience (or equivalent degree with six years).
• Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM or CISA; additional NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS Controls knowledge is a plus.
• Proven experience with security technologies (SIEM, Email Security Gateway, DLP, WAF, IAM, endpoint protection, encryption, Azure or AWS cloud security).
• Experience working in humanitarian, development or United Nations environments and ability to collaborate across cultures.

Required skills

• Microsoft Sentinel (dashboard creation, source management, log analysis).
• Microsoft Defender for Vulnerability Management (vulnerability hunting, remediation).
• Power BI integration and report creation.
• Knowledge of AI applications in cybersecurity, NIST 800‑61, ISO‑27035 incident‑response frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, DLP, Web Application Firewall, IAM, cloud security (Azure, AWS).
