Indirect Tax Specialist

About the role

Colt is seeking an Indirect Tax Specialist to lead its global VAT compliance programme. The role will act as the subject‑matter expert on indirect tax, providing independent advice and ensuring that all VAT obligations across the company’s footprint are met accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead global VAT compliance activities, including preparation, review and filing of returns.
• Maintain relationships with external VAT advisors and tax authorities, coordinating audits and investigations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate indirect tax risks, recommending practical solutions.
• Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency, control and governance.
• Develop and maintain robust VAT governance frameworks, controls and documented procedures.
• Interpret legislative developments, assess organisational impact and lead implementation of required changes.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to finance and tax colleagues.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of experience in European and UK VAT compliance and advisory.
• Strong analytical mindset with high accuracy and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to interact with multicultural stakeholders.
• Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude towards extra responsibilities.
