IT & AI Commercial Legal Counsel

About the role

Inetum, a European leader in digital services, is looking for a dynamic, proactive and talented IT & AI Commercial Legal Counsel to join its Legal Team in Madrid. The role provides legal support to the IT & AI business teams across Spain, within a team of Legal Counsels and Contract Managers. The position is hybrid and offers structured professional and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and review IT & AI business contracts for private and public sector clients, covering existing accounts and new deals.
• Provide end-to-end legal support for a set of assigned deals in Spain, with a focus on IP, AI, IT and data protection law.
• Support the review and negotiation of a wide range of IT & AI contracts, balancing business and legal requirements.
• Handle all legal aspects of contracting with customers and providers, including claims, while complying with local legislation and company codes and policies.
• Give specialised advice on artificial intelligence and data protection, with a focus on the EU AI Act and GDPR, helping design and implement the AI legal governance and compliance framework.
• Communicate legal advice clearly and pragmatically to all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Spanish lawyer with around 5-10 years of post-qualification experience.
• Interest in IT outsourcing, digital, intellectual property, software licensing and AI and data protection law.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
• Thrives in a team and works cross-functionally; able to work independently with minimal secretarial and administrative support.
• Native or business-level Spanish is a must, and fluent business English is essential.
