IT Software Engineer - Full Stack (Java/Angular)

About the role

Roche is hiring a Custom Software Developer within its RDT Engineering Excellence & Experience organization in Madrid. You will work at project level in cross-functional agile squads, combining hands-on full-stack development with strong engineering discipline, from technical analysis and feature design to automated deployment and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain microservices and responsive web apps with Java and modern web frameworks (Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS)
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and run manual and automated testing
• Design and optimize database schemas and queries on PostgreSQL, and handle data through template frameworks
• Run end-to-end delivery with GitHub CI/CD pipelines, Linux shell scripting and DevOps tooling
• Support technical feasibility studies, refine requirements and help with Computerized System Validation (CSV) procedures
• Use AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude, take part in code reviews and contribute to internal Communities of Practice

Required profile

• Proven hands-on experience developing in Java and Python
• Solid experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS
• Strong SQL and relational database experience (PostgreSQL), and RESTful microservices
• Experience with TDD, automated unit/integration testing and clean code
• Git workflows and Linux/Bash automation
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional agile squads, with clear technical documentation
