Java Backend Developer (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer to design, develop and maintain robust, scalable backend services that power both internal and external applications. You will join an agile, self‑organized team at Surventis in Madrid, collaborating closely with frontend engineers and operations to deliver high‑quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement and evolve RESTful APIs for seamless integration with front‑end applications and external systems.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and team standards.
• Maintain and improve existing services to ensure performance, reliability and long‑term maintainability.
• Participate in planning, refinement, code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to define clear API contracts and smooth data flows.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration and component tests to guarantee quality and prevent regressions.
• Share responsibility for operations, monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation as part of a DevOps mindset.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Java development and building backend services.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot framework and RESTful API design.
• Ability to work in an agile, self‑organized team and communicate effectively with cross‑functional partners.
• Commitment to writing clean, testable code and continuous learning.
