Jefe de Recepción – Occidental Jandía Playa

About the role

The Head of Reception will lead the front‑desk team at the Occidental Jandía Playa resort, ensuring smooth guest check‑in, optimal room allocation and high satisfaction levels. This position reports directly to hotel management and plays a key role in daily operations and guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate and supervise all reception sections.
• Monitor short‑, medium‑ and long‑term room reservation planning, occupancy reports, VIP guest lists and no‑show records.
• Verify group rooming lists, assign rooms and manage changes.
• Personally attend to guest check‑ins and handle special requests when needed.
• Address guest complaints, inform relevant departments and follow up.
• Review and sign the incident log.
• Ensure effective inter‑departmental communication.
• Conduct staff meetings and schedule shifts, attendance records, hires and terminations.
• Recommend sanctions, promotions and participate in department recruitment.
• Propose operational improvements and assist with room‑rate policies.

Required profile

• Degree in Tourism, Business Administration or related field; or a medium‑level hospitality degree.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar reception management role.
• High level of English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer‑orientation skills.
• Team‑player with planning, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
