Jefe/a de Cocina – Occidental Lanzarote Playa

About the role

The Barceló Hotel Group is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen operations at its Occidental Lanzarote Playa resort. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality buffet and à‑la‑carte experiences that meet the brand’s standards while managing a large culinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Organise, direct and coordinate the work of kitchen staff.
• Supervise cleanliness, maintenance of utensils, and proper use of equipment.
• Train and mentor team members.
• Control costs, stock, orders and purchases.
• Develop all‑inclusive and à‑la‑carte menus.
• Oversee all operational kitchen processes.
• Ensure buffet quality and presentation according to company standards.
• Maintain compliance with food hygiene and handling regulations.
• Adopt new kitchen technologies.

Required profile

• Higher‑level vocational training in Kitchen Management (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior en Dirección de Cocina).
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Head Chef or equivalent.
• High level of English.
• Knowledge of Spanish and international cuisine is valued.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (user level).
