Jefe/a de Restaurante – Hotel Occidental Mar Menor

About the role

The Restaurant Manager will lead the dining operations at the Occidental Hotel Mar Menor, ensuring high standards of service, hygiene and guest satisfaction. Reporting to senior hotel management, you will coordinate a team of chefs, waitstaff and support personnel in a dynamic, upscale environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise cleaning, preparation of equipment, utensils and service areas.
• Set up and break down tables, control the mise en place.
• Oversee sector heads and waitstaff, ensuring compliance with duties.
• Maintain personal hygiene standards and overall restaurant cleanliness.
• Welcome guests, escort them to tables and take orders when needed.
• Promote and upsell menu items aligned with company goals.
• Conduct inventory checks of furniture, crockery, linen and supplies.
• Prepare purchase proposals and place orders as directed.
• Plan work schedules, manage staff onboarding and departures.
• Handle billing, cash reconciliation and revenue settlement.
• Report any quality or presentation issues to superiors.

Required profile

• Mid‑level education: Medium or Higher Vocational Training in Hospitality/Restaurant Management or a degree in Tourism.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar managerial position.
• High proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven capability to lead and develop teams.
