Junior Engineer – Requirements

About the role

AECOM EC Europe is seeking a Junior Engineer to join its Requirements Management team within the Systems Engineering & Systems Assurance (SESA) discipline. You will support large international rail and infrastructure projects by helping define, document, and trace client requirements throughout the project life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Requirements Manager to create the Requirements Management Plan and associated matrices.
• Prepare and maintain documentation that ensures compliance with client contracts.
• Develop proficiency in requirements‑management tools such as IBM DOORS or comparable software.
• Assist in establishing strategies for requirement identification, tracking, and coordination across SESA disciplines (RAM, Safety, Interfaces Management, System Architecture, Human Factors) and the design team.
• Support traceability between stakeholders to minimise inconsistencies and rework.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or junior‑level engineer with an interest in systems engineering and rail infrastructure.
• Ability to produce clear technical documents and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Eagerness to learn and apply requirements‑management methodologies.

Required skills

• Familiarity with requirements‑management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS or similar).
