Junior Sales Engineer

About the role

Sulzer is looking for a motivated Junior Sales Engineer to join its team in Cornellà (Barcelona). The role supports the sales team in Portugal by providing technical expertise, preparing proposals and helping develop customised solutions. It suits an early-career engineer who wants to combine technical knowledge with a customer-focused commercial approach.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation and delivery of technical presentations and product information.
• Help develop customised technical solutions based on customer requirements.
• Work with engineering teams to check the technical feasibility of proposals.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and supporting technical documentation.
• Answer customer enquiries and give technical support during the sales process.
• Carry out market research and competitor analysis to find business opportunities.
• Maintain records of customer interactions and sales activities using CRM tools.
• Support customers in Portugal from the Barcelona office and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
• Up to 2 years of relevant experience, internships or equivalent practical exposure.
• Fluent English at First Certificate level or equivalent.
• Preferred: experience in industrial or technical environments, knowledge of fluid equipment, purification technologies, valves or industrial installations, and Portuguese language skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• CRM tools, or willingness to learn them.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and quick-learning abilities.
