Kitchen Assistant – Temporary Cover

About the role

Cognita, a global network of independent schools, is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant to cover temporarily at Colegio Internacional Meres in Meres, Asturias. The role supports the day-to-day running of the school dining facilities and helps keep them clean, organised and hygienic. It is a temporary, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cutlery and serving equipment and help with food handling and meal service
• Transport food and clean dining and kitchen areas
• Recycle materials and ensure facilities are presented to an excellent standard
• Support stock replenishment and store cleaning supplies
• Assist with deep cleaning during school holiday periods

Required profile

• Reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic person who takes pride in cleanliness and a positive dining experience
• Previous experience in cleaning or a similar support role is desirable
• No formal qualifications required; a secondary education qualification (ESO/EGB) is advantageous
• Effective communicator, team player, flexible and proactive
• Fluency in Spanish is essential; English is beneficial
