Laboratory Analyst I - Petroleum Products

About the role

Core Laboratories is hiring an Analyst I in Barcelona to perform chemical and physical laboratory testing on petroleum, petrochemical and related products according to internationally recognized standards such as ASTM, IP and UOP. The role delivers accurate, reliable and timely analytical results while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare samples and reagents
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Record and review analytical data
• Support quality assurance activities
• Work closely with senior laboratory personnel and follow company procedures and HSE policies
• Contribute to continuous laboratory performance improvement

Required profile

• B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or a related field, with at least 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical materials on procedures, safety and regulations, and to write clear reports and correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, schedulers and clients, and to work independently

Required skills

• Basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division across units, and computation of rates, ratios, percents and quantities
• Reading and interpolating data and tables, and drawing and interpreting graphs and control charts
• Good communication and teamwork skills
