Laboratory Engineer

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, is looking for a Laboratory Engineer in Fraga (Huesca). The engineer describes laboratory methods and procedures and produces the documentation needed for validation and revalidation of sterilization processes, laboratory equipment and microbiological and/or chemical techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the proper functioning of the laboratory area and coordinate with the Sterilization Department and Project Engineers to guarantee product sterility
• Maintain effective relationships with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse and Production departments
• Apply current sterilization and laboratory regulations and generate and update work procedures for control tests
• Prepare protocols and reports for equipment and technique validations and revalidations
• Analyze trends and prepare annual summaries of laboratory results
• Train laboratory and production staff and lead specific laboratory projects
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and approve final microbiological and chemical tests of sterile products
• Support continuous improvement and assess compliance with GMPs and GDPs in the applicable areas

Required profile

• University degree in Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or similar)
• Intermediate to advanced spoken and written English
• Previous experience in similar positions is valued
