Legal Counsel – Data Protection

About the role

As a Legal Counsel specializing in Data Protection, you will join Bitpanda’s Legal team and work closely with the Group Data Protection Officer. You will help design, implement and continuously improve the company’s data protection framework across European and international operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ongoing data protection advice to business, product and engineering teams.
• Support the Group Data Protection Officer in maintaining and developing the data protection management system, policies and internal guidelines.
• Draft, review and negotiate data processing agreements, data transfer mechanisms, privacy notices and related documentation.
• Assist in handling data subject requests, personal data breaches and related enquiries.

Required profile

• University degree in law from a European university, preferably with a focus on data protection, IT/IP or regulatory law.
• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in data protection or privacy law, gained in an international law firm, regulatory authority or in‑house counsel role.
• Solid knowledge of the GDPR and related European and national data protection laws.
• Familiarity with the regulatory environment for financial services and crypto‑assets is a plus.
• Team player with a solution‑oriented, precise work style and ability to work independently.
• Fluency in English; German at B2 level or higher.
