Legal Counsel – Employment Law (Barcelona)

About the role

We are seeking a Spanish‑qualified Legal Counsel to join a fast‑growing global technology company’s legal team in Barcelona. The role focuses on European employment and labour law, supporting People & Culture, senior leadership and operational stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on employee relations, workplace policies, disciplinary actions, terminations, restructures, contracts and internal investigations.
• Provide practical legal support to People & Culture and business teams in Spain and other European countries.
• Lead cross‑border employment projects such as policy harmonisation, workforce changes and compliance initiatives.
• Draft, review and negotiate employment‑related documents, including contracts, settlement agreements and policies.
• Manage or coordinate external counsel for specialist local advice.
• Communicate legal risks clearly and commercially, and keep the business updated on relevant law developments.
• Assist the wider legal team with commercial, compliance or corporate matters as needed.

Required profile

• Law degree and qualification as a lawyer in Spain.
• Strong experience advising on employment and labour law matters.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent written communication in both languages.
• Ability to provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice.
• Proactive, organised and solutions‑focused approach.
• Comfort working in an international, fast‑paced environment and managing senior stakeholders.
