Legal Employment Counsel – Part‑time (Barcelona)

About the role

SiteMinder is seeking a part‑time Legal Employment Counsel based in Barcelona to provide expert advice on employee‑related matters across Spain and potentially other EMEA regions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide counsel on employment law issues such as grievances, dismissals, contracts and benefits.
• Advise People & Culture, managers and leaders on employee relations, risk management and complex workplace matters.
• Manage obligations related to works councils, employee representatives and unions, including consultation and collective bargaining.
• Oversee employment litigation and disputes, offering regulatory and compliance guidance.
• Monitor regional employment law developments and adjust policies accordingly.
• Support cross‑border employment projects, policy harmonisation and compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Law degree with admission to practice in Spain and at least 8 years post‑qualification experience.
• Extensive in‑house experience in a multinational, with proven expertise in complex Spanish employment law, works councils and union negotiations.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical, pragmatic approach and ability to provide commercially balanced advice.
• Excellent relationship‑management skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
