Legal & Regulatory Affairs Officer – Spain

About the role

The Legal & Regulatory Affairs Officer will be based in Barcelona and act as the primary legal and compliance representative for the iGaming group in Spain. Reporting to the Chief Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Director, you will support the Group’s legal, regulatory and compliance activities across the Spanish market.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice on commercial, corporate and operational matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, supplier contracts and partnership agreements.
• Support internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues and manage corporate governance for Spanish entities.
• Coordinate external counsel when required and reduce reliance on outside law firms.
• Act as the main point of contact for the Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) and other authorities.
• Monitor regulatory developments, prepare filings, notifications and reports, and support audits and inspections.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Product, Marketing, Operations and Commercial teams to ensure initiatives are compliant.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of legal and compliance processes.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with a Law Degree and admission to a Spanish Bar Association.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in private practice or in‑house.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish commercial, corporate and regulatory law.
• Experience interacting with the DGOJ and understanding of the Spanish online gambling framework.
• Background in iGaming, betting, fintech, payments or another regulated sector is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of legal and compliance matters.
