Mechanical Designer - Machinery Projects

About the role

Lear For You is looking for a Mechanical Designer in Valladolid, reporting directly to the Head of the Mechanical Department / Project Manager. The main mission is to carry out the mechanical design projects needed for the assembly and installation of the machinery required by clients.

Key responsibilities

• Capture the machine or facility required by the client in a preliminary project using a design program, based on its specifications, and obtain commercial references (45%)
• Coordinate with the electrical designers and automation programmers on the parts they must develop within the project (5%)
• Take part in client meetings to validate the preliminary project (5%)
• Break down the overall machine design into machining plans for subcontracting (10%)
• Enter the breakdown plans and orders for commercial references into the management program so Purchasing can act (10%)
• Solve doubts raised by external subcontracted workshops and by mechanical assemblers in the workshop (5%)
• Update machine plans with information from mechanical and electrical assemblers (5%)
• Prepare the documentation delivered to the client: plans, list of commercial references, list of recommended spare parts, preventive maintenance plan, etc. (10%)

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for machinery or industrial installations
• Experience producing technical documentation, drawings and bills of materials
• Basic working proficiency in English, written and spoken
• Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located
