Mechanical Package Manager

About the role

Mercury, a European leader in construction solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Package Manager to oversee the mechanical scope of complex engineering projects in Madrid. The role combines safety, quality, scheduling, and cost management to ensure successful delivery of mechanical packages across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site safety in collaboration with the project team and Mercury Safety Advisor, including safety file setup, contractor EHS documentation review, and performance monitoring.
• Oversee site QA/QC for the mechanical package, handling file setup, contractor QA/QC documentation, and performance tracking.
• Coordinate project schedule with the Mercury project team, consulting engineer, and client, providing weekly progress updates.
• Control all costs related to mechanical packages—labour, material, plant, equipment, variations, and valuations—in partnership with commercial teams.
• Direct day‑to‑day site operations for the mechanical scope, managing subcontractor activities, progress tracking, and weekly coordination meetings.
• Maintain the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system, ensuring timely punch‑list completion.
• Attend site, internal, engineering, planning, and handover meetings, and support close‑out activities such as final accounts, O&M manuals, safety and QA files, and material relocation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing mechanical packages on large construction projects.
• Strong understanding of EHS, QA/QC, and cost control processes.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external subcontractors.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for reporting and meeting participation.

Required skills

• Experience with EHS documentation and compliance.
• Proficiency in QA/QC documentation and processes.
• Familiarity with project scheduling and cost management tools.
• Use of snagging and project file management systems (e.g., Filekey).
