Medical Sales Representative – Infectious Disease (Northern Spain)

About the role

Abbott's Infectious Diseases business unit in Spain is looking for a Sales Account Representative covering the Norte zone (Basque Country, La Rioja, Navarre, Aragon), Cantabria and Castilla y León (Burgos and Soria). The role reports to the sales manager of the Spanish division and aims to turn business opportunities into closed deals with public and private customers while meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the installed base and grow new strategic customer segments
• Pursue and track new sales leads and manage opportunities in the sales funnel using Salesforce.com
• Visit existing and new target customers regularly, focusing on strategic segments
• Own demo and application activities and take a co-development approach with customers and Abbott's solutions
• Close deals to achieve revenue targets and monitor competitors, feeding market intelligence to marketing and commercial leadership
• Answer customer enquiries, organise customer meetings and use sales tools and support materials
• Execute the territory's annual sales plans and take part in monthly and quarterly business reviews

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences or a related field
• At least 3-4 years of industry experience (diagnostics, point of care, medical devices) in sales in Northern Spain
• Proven sales experience in a commercial environment with a clear customer orientation
• Strong knowledge of the in-vitro diagnostic industry, especially infectious disease; point-of-care biology experience is an asset
• Experience working with KOLs and key decision-makers in the region
• Conversational English (CEFR B1-B2 minimum)
