Medical Science Liaison – Parkinson's Disease

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Parkinson's Disease will serve as AbbVie’s scientific bridge to key opinion leaders, academic centers, and external experts. This role ensures that AbbVie’s medical and scientific presence is strong, compliant, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies in all activities.
• Provide scientific and technical leadership to build credible relationships with thought leaders and external experts.
• Facilitate research and educational initiatives at academic centers, supporting requests for medical and scientific information.
• Assist in the initiation, oversight, and follow‑up of post‑marketing clinical studies, registries, epidemiological surveys, and Phase IV projects.
• Act as the primary contact for investigators initiating studies, coordinating support with local and global medical teams.
• Deliver scientific presentations to physicians and thought leaders, focusing on Tier 1 and Tier 2 experts.
• Identify and qualify thought leaders for collaborative research, advisory boards, congresses, and symposia.
• Gather and communicate field intelligence on competitor activities and medical strategies.
• Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences to represent AbbVie.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a life‑science discipline (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in a Medical Science Liaison or similar scientific field‑based role.
• Strong knowledge of Parkinson’s disease therapeutics and clinical research.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal cross‑functional teams.
