Mid Data Engineer (ETL/ELT)

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level Data Engineer to join a fast‑growing startup in Barcelona. You will design, build and optimise data pipelines that ensure clean, reliable data for the whole organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform and load data from diverse sources.
• Write clean, high‑performance Python code with a focus on memory efficiency and maintainability.
• Collaborate on SQL and NoSQL schema design and optimise queries for fast data access.
• Implement unit, integration and data‑quality tests to guarantee pipeline integrity.
• Deploy pipelines using CI/CD practices and containerisation tools such as Docker, and participate in code reviews.

Required profile

• Strong Python engineering experience with production‑grade code.
• Proven track record building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimisation.
• Ability to work autonomously from requirement definition to production deployment.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
