Monitoring & Observability Administrator (Women Only)

About the role

UNICC, the shared service provider for the United Nations system, is looking for a Monitoring & Observability Administrator (women only) based in Valencia, Spain or remotely within the CET/GMT time zone. The Monitoring team, which includes administrators, senior consultants and a team lead, needs to fill specific skill gaps to keep delivering customer excellence. The consultant must be autonomous and work in a complex enterprise environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the monitoring infrastructure (SCOM, Checkmk, Elastic) so that it stays stable, up to date, well designed, tuned and maintained
• Extend the current infrastructure or implement a new one according to capacity-management plans
• Develop monitoring, improve and configure it, and develop integration through APIs
• Develop ad-hoc monitors and SCOM management packs, and maintain automations with Ansible
• Develop reports and identify, troubleshoot and document solutions to known problems
• Guide the Tier 1 workforce and coach team members, and create statistics for the monitoring tools
• Perform maintenance-window tasks and provide stand-by support on a rotating basis during weekends, holidays and outside normal hours

Required profile

• Good experience with SCOM, Checkmk and Elastic observability (Elasticsearch and APM)
• Autonomy in the activities and experience in complex enterprise environments
• Customer-facing experience, oral communication, writing documentation and reports, creativity, willingness to learn and conflict management
• Proficiency in English

Required skills

• Scripting in Bash, PowerShell or Python
• Programming in .NET, C# or Python
• Desirable: knowledge of OEM or Prometheus, full-stack observability platforms, automation tools and runbooks, KQL, ESQL, PromQL, JSON, Kibana dashboards, SSRS and Power BI
• Desirable certifications: Elasticsearch, Elastic Observability, Checkmk, System Center Operations Manager, or relevant programming-language certifications

The position offers teleworking and requires on-call availability of one week per month, on rotation depending on team size.
