Multilingual Data Analyst Intern

About the role

Morningstar is looking for a multilingual Data Analyst Intern based in Madrid, Spain. The team delivers high-quality financial data to investors and works closely with the Global Data Team and local business representatives to keep financial data accurate and timely across global markets. The intern gains hands-on experience in data acquisition and management.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, organise and verify financial data so it is timely, accurate and complete across global markets.
• Support business relationships with fund companies by helping set up acquisition channels and resolve data issues.
• Collaborate with global data teams to meet production deadlines and deliver high-quality data to clients.
• Learn and apply project management methodologies such as LEAN Six Sigma to improve workflows and solve data problems.
• Document and translate client requests into specifications while learning financial data processes.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and at least two other languages (Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Italian, Portuguese, Thai, Japanese or Korean).
• Comfortable working in collaborative, international settings and focused on client needs.
• Passion for the financial industry and investment data, with a good grasp of data quality and processes.
• Ability to organise and manage large volumes of data and meet deadlines.
• Previous project management experience and interest in operational and performance data.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Project management experience.
