Multilingual Data Research Analyst

About the role

Morningstar is looking for a multilingual Associate Data Research Analyst based in Madrid, Spain. The team delivers high-quality financial data to investors and works closely with the Global Data Team and local business representatives to keep financial data accurate and timely across global markets. Candidates must speak English fluently and at least two other languages.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with global data teams and act as a data expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations and fund structures.
• Manage business relationships with fund companies, connect with providers, set up acquisition channels and act as escalation point.
• Meet production deadlines for internal and external clients.
• Evaluate procedures, build and improve analytical tools, and run process improvement projects using methods such as LEAN Six Sigma.
• Collect and maintain Morningstar data with high accuracy, completeness and coverage.
• Own data tickets, follow up and resolve issues promptly, and understand internal partners' roles to speed resolution.
• Translate client requests into detailed written specifications and user stories, and document client use cases.

Required profile

• Fluent English and at least two other languages (e.g. Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Italian, Portuguese, Thai, Japanese, Korean).
• Team player who builds relationships across cultures and addresses client needs empathetically.
• Detail-oriented passion for the financial industry and investment data, with an understanding of data quality and processes.
• Previous project management experience and a knack for operational and performance data.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Project management experience.

What we offer

• Base salary of EUR 29,000 to 39,000, with a 5% annual target bonus depending on qualifications and experience.
• Hybrid work, typically four days in office per week.
