National Communications Planner Spain and Eastern Europe

About the role

A National Communications Planner for Spain and Eastern Europe is needed at Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate joins the Airbus International Communications Team, which bridges business strategy with tactical execution by linking market intelligence with priorities across Spain and Eastern Europe. The team works with External and Internal Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, Investor Relations and the Head of Countries.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor market trends, competitors and political and societal dynamics across Spain and Eastern Europe, turning metrics into risk, opportunity and briefing insights.
• Develop communications plans that define key messages translating brand strategy into national realities across internal and external channels.
• Lead cross-functional alignment boards (KAM, Public Affairs, Marketing, Comms) to synchronize business goals with market intelligence and operations.
• Work with the Content Team to direct, produce and archive assets, and manage channel and content budgets to optimise ROI.
• Provide strategic briefings, key message frameworks and crisis and reputational advice.
• Track and optimise campaign performance and brand sentiment using analytics tools.

Required profile

• University degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Business Administration or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in Strategic Communications, PR or Integrated Campaign Planning in complex corporate environments, preferably in highly regulated or politically sensitive industries.
• Native or near-native Spanish and fluent English (written and spoken).
• Strong stakeholder management, ability to influence across matrixed organisations, strategic thinking and adaptability.
• Deep knowledge of Spanish and Eastern European defence, space and security markets is valued.

Required skills

• Data-driven, analytical mindset with experience in market intelligence and reputation tracking platforms (e.g. Caliber).
• Experience in integrated campaign planning and communications planning.
