Operations Center Technical Lead – Offshore Wind

About the role

GE Vernova, a leading offshore wind energy company, is looking for an Operations Center Technical Lead in Barcelona to support the ROC team on Haliade X projects. The role covers the technical aspects of commissioning and the service phase, ensuring 24/7 remote operation services that stay fully operational 365 days a year. The position is based on rotating shifts and requires working from the office.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, including remote commissioning, real-time monitoring, surveillance activities and reporting.
• Detect abnormal system conditions and respond promptly to field disturbances and alarms so turbines stay safe and stable.
• Execute commissioning, remote troubleshooting, diagnostics and support site teams during PLI closure.
• Coordinate 24/7 ROC activities and escalate issues when remote troubleshooting is not enough.
• Collaborate with technical support teams, maintain close coordination with site teams and communicate technical information through reports, presentations and verbal updates.
• Investigate and report performance anomalies at control and design levels, and seek process optimization, digitization and automation opportunities.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned grid outages with minimal disruption and full compliance with safety protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, or 3+ years of relevant experience in the wind sector.
• Proven on-site technical experience with wind turbine generators, including reading electrical schematics and supporting field technicians.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); Spanish is a plus.
• Willingness to travel, mainly for training.
• Availability to work in a 24/7/365 rotating shift system and be on-call as needed.
• Strong problem-solving, risk assessment and analytical skills, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SCADA systems and MS Office.
• Reporting, documentation and report management.
• Plus: 3+ years in control room operations, offshore wind, commissioning, MarkVIe and remote operator experience.
