Operations Specialist - Data Quality Management (AVP)

About the role

DWS Group is hiring an Operations Specialist for Data Quality Management (AVP) in Madrid, within the COO Division's Smart Middle Office. The Data Quality Management function ensures the accuracy, completeness, integrity and timeliness of reference and issuer data used across the organisation, and the role contributes to automation, AI-enabled process improvement and data-driven controls.

Key responsibilities

• Own and strengthen the data quality control environment, keeping Security Master reference and time series data, pricing and standard settlement instructions accurate and up to date.
• Use trend monitoring and root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues and drive control and technology improvements.
• Act as escalation point for complex data quality issues, leading deep-dive investigations and remediation with internal teams, Technology and external vendors.
• Partner with Front Office, IT, Audit, Compliance and others to meet regulatory expectations and business priorities.
• Lead data quality control frameworks, including risk identification, KRI/KPI monitoring and periodic recertification of KOP/KODs.
• Identify automation and AI opportunities to reduce manual intervention and strengthen predictive controls.
• Operate across Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Cash products, working with vendors such as Bloomberg, LSEG and ICE.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in financial services, with strong expertise in reference data and data quality management.
• Deep understanding of Security Master data, market pricing and the data lifecycle from trade execution to settlement.
• Hands-on experience with market data vendors such as Bloomberg, LSEG (Refinitiv) or ICE.
• Comfortable in a global, matrix environment and with risk, controls and data governance frameworks.

Required skills

• Root-cause analysis and data troubleshooting.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis; Python, Power Automate, SQL or data visualisation tools are highly beneficial.
• Experience with Aladdin, Eagle PACE or similar systems is a plus.
• Practical understanding of AI, automation and data analytics, with a focus on responsible use.
