OrioleDB Developer – Remote (Americas)

About the role

We’re looking for an engineer to drive the evolution of OrioleDB and its collaboration with the upstream PostgreSQL community. The role sits at the intersection of database internals, open‑source community work, and Supabase’s managed Postgres platform, and requires overlap with Americas time zones for production support and on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new OrioleDB features such as native index access methods (GiST, GIN, HNSW for pgvector) and disaster‑recovery tooling.
• Strengthen reliability through test coverage, fault injection, crash and recovery testing, and CI infrastructure improvements.
• Contribute patches to PostgreSQL core and manage upstream collaboration via mailing lists, code reviews, and commit‑fests.
• Integrate OrioleDB with Supabase’s managed Postgres offering, ensuring smooth production deployment and support.

Required profile

• Existing PostgreSQL core contributor or equivalent experience with database internals.
• Expert C programmer with 8+ years of production‑level low‑level systems experience.
• Deep familiarity with PostgreSQL’s codebase, build system, and extension APIs.
• Experience designing or implementing storage engines, index structures, or query execution components.
