OTC Billing Accountant

About the role

Sulzer, a leading engineering company, is looking for an OTC Billing Accountant to join its Accounting team in Spain. You will help take the Order to Cash processes to the next level, collaborating with several Sulzer legal entities and stakeholders such as Project Managers, Finance Heads, the CoE Accounting Manager, the Reporting and Analytics team and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate invoices to customers based on service agreements and purchase orders, and ensure timely dispatch in line with customer requirements and local regulations such as B2B e-invoicing.
• Review and reconcile billing data, and work with sales, customer service, collections and project management teams to resolve billing issues.
• Maintain customer billing records in the billing system and perform AR, revenue and aging analysis.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations, and generate billing reports with recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with OTC internal controls, accounting policies and regulatory requirements, and support audits and intercompany billing.
• Help define billing KPIs and support improvements to billing systems and procedures.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of billing experience in a similar role; manufacturing or industrial sector experience preferred.
• Experience in Global Business Services or Finance Shared Services is highly valued.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of the Order to Cash cycle, accounting principles, revenue recognition and billing.
• ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, iScala) and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
