Packaging Engineer

About the role

Haleon is looking for a Packaging Engineer in Alcalá de Henares. As a Process Technology Manager, you will be responsible for all pack design changes (new product introductions, product transfers and site changes) in support of packaging supply goals for local Haleon and external supply sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the impact of new packaging and packaging changes on processes, product stability, performance and consumer perception, including shared materials and suppliers
• Ensure regulatory compliance (MHRA, GMP) and legal compliance (tamper evidence, weights and measures) for packaging
• Support the supplier complaint process for packaging component issues and investigate complaints
• Use CHAMPS, CH-Pack, SAP and Veeva to author and revise packaging instructions, SOPs, technical reports, risk assessments and change controls, and approve artwork
• Lead investigations of packaging deviations to find root causes and corrective actions
• Support I&T projects with Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering, and lead packaging improvement projects and PCT work
• Evaluate packaging impact on change controls, manage compliance records (deviations, CAPAs, change controls) and identify technical, safety, quality and supply risks

Required profile

• BS in Packaging Science or a related technical degree (engineer preferred)
• At least 2 years of engineering or product manufacturing experience in an industrial or cGMP environment
• Knowledge of packaging equipment and materials, and of problem-solving and continuous improvement tools
• Fluent English and Spanish
• Preferred: field or plant operations experience, FDA/GMP implementation experience, strong project management and data analytics skills

The salary range is EUR 42,018 to EUR 57,775, and the final offer depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
