Patent Paralegal – IP Department (Temp)

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Patent Paralegal to support its Intellectual Property department in Getafe, Madrid. The role involves managing the full lifecycle of patent applications and ensuring seamless coordination between inventors, attorneys, and external IP firms.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file online patent applications from submission to registration.
• Draft and coordinate responses to office actions and communications from patent offices and partner firms.
• Maintain a secure archival system and audit the IP portfolio database for accuracy.
• Process legal documents such as invention disclosures, assignments, and declarations.
• Track and monitor critical legal deadlines in partnership with patent attorneys.
• Act as the primary liaison among inventors, attorneys, partner IP firms, and international patent offices.
• Manage patent maintenance and renewal fee payments.
• Oversee inventor incentive programs and coordinate with payroll.
• Handle invoice management and contribute to financial reporting for the national patent team.

Required profile

• University degree.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Team player comfortable in a dynamic environment.
• High motivation to lead complex projects.
• English at negotiation level.
• Fluent Spanish.
