Plant Manager – Biomethane Plant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Plant Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of a biomethane facility processing 150,000 tonnes per year in Villaluenga, Spain. Reporting to the Operations Director – Spain, you will be responsible for overall operational, financial, safety and performance management, ensuring the plant runs efficiently, safely and in full regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily plant operations to achieve optimal production performance and meet all regulatory requirements.
• Manage the plant’s P&L, budgets, cost control, forecasting and overall operational performance.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Coordinate plant personnel, contractors and service providers.
• Drive operational excellence through KPI monitoring, performance‑improvement initiatives and efficiency optimisation.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to maximise plant availability.
• Coordinate feedstock logistics, utilities, inventory and digestate operations.
• Supervise third‑party contractors, ensuring contractual and safety compliance.
• Maintain emergency preparedness and incident‑response readiness.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Process, Environmental or related discipline).
• 3–5 years of experience managing industrial plant operations.
• Experience in biogas, biomethane, energy, waste‑treatment or similar process industries is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, organisational and decision‑making abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of industrial safety and environmental regulations.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Willingness to travel regionally and support emergency situations.
• Languages: Spanish (required), English (required), Italian (highly desirable).
