Portfolio Data Analyst

About the role

Morningstar's Research group collects and maintains high-quality data on equities, managed investments and fixed income, and its Managed Investment Data Team needs a Portfolio Data Analyst to process portfolio data across global markets. The analyst works closely with the global Portfolio Team and local business representatives, owning data coverage, quality and timeliness, and is based in the Data and Development Centre EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and maintain Morningstar data, ensuring accuracy, completeness and coverage.
• Meet production deadlines for internal and external clients.
• Work closely with global data teams and act as an expert on investment data points and calculations, answering questions and escalations.
• Maintain relationships with fund companies, clients and third-party data providers.
• Stay up to date on financial regulations such as Solvency II and MiFID II.
• Improve processes using LEAN Six Sigma tools and process automation.
• Test incoming templates (TPT+, APT, etc.) and handle Portfolio Data Transfer Agreements in close collaboration with Legal and fund companies.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of the financial industry and passion for investment data.
• At least 2 years of experience at Morningstar, ideally in data management.
• Expertise in Morningstar data, methodology, quality and processes; strong knowledge of derivative investments is required.
• Fluent English and at least one other European language (mandatory).

Required skills

• Excellent writing, communication, problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong organization and time management, able to handle large volumes of data and meet strict deadlines.

What we offer

• Base salary of EUR 29,000 to 39,000, with a 5% annual bonus target.
• Hybrid work, typically four days in office per week.
